"Discover a working cattle farm in the mountains of Western North Carolina at Walnut Hollow Ranch. The tour begins at the entrance of the farm store of the main red barn. The importance and management of productive pastures will be explained as you stroll down the concrete drive. The ranch manages the pastures with a rotational grazing system, so keep your eyes out for the herd. As you enter the breeding and handling building, Charlie will demonstrate how the cows are artificially bred and explain why certain genetics are chosen. The health and growth of the cattle are examined in a safe, humane handling system. Just outside, you will view the feeding facility; if you visit during the winter season, it’s easy to get real close to the cattle. There are many photo opportunities, especially seeing the kids with the farm tractors and equipment. Around the corner are other feed, material and hay sheds. Charlie wants visitors to experience the sights and smells of the farm while discussing the cattle nutrient requirements. Discover how the ranch manages the complete beef production from conception to plate. In addition, you will see many conservation practices used to protect the farms resources, water quality and environment. Keep you eyes open for a glimpse of our horses before you enter the main barn to see the horse stalls and barn loft. The tour will end in the farm store where you will learn about the healthful benefits or our wholesome beef. Traveling a distance, no problem, we’ll ship or safely pack your order!"  (Information from their website)
